The history of Inspiration Southern Baptist Church is truly a story of how God inspired a few people to begin a new church dedicated to serving Him, and how He performed miracle after miracle to accomplish this undertaking.

On December 14,1999, a steering committee met, prepared a proposed church budget, selected a retired minister, Reverend Roland L. Dry, as pastor and adopted our church name. Another meeting was scheduled for December 19 in which additional people came to praise God for blessing our new church.

After several unsuccessful attempts at locating a site to worship, God directed the new congregation to the Executive Inn on Anderson Road, Rock Hill. We met in the banquet room beginning January 2, 2000. On that first Sunday there were twenty-seven members strong with a total of forty-seven in attendance.

In Febuary 2000, the members signed a note for $150,000 to purchase 3.7 acres of land just off McConnells Highway on Comer Road. This note was subsequently and miraculously paid in full and the morgage burned in March 2001, just a little more than a year.

In January 2001, we had our groundbreaking on our land and our trustees signed a note for $450,000 for construction on our new building. In March 2001, we began clearing our land. The local fire department burned the more than 100-year-old house that was on the property. In March 2002, we had our first service in our new church.

On Febuary 8, 2009, we paid honor to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ by having a mortgage burning service to totally retire the church debt.

We have a wonderful, loving congregation that is steadfastly and joyfully serving and glorifying God and looking forward for Him to gather us all home. We give Him all the praise and glory for what He has done, what He is doing, and what He will do in our hearts and lives.
